'Written by Arthur Machen at Amersham during January and decorated with a wood engraving by Edward Carrick, twenty-five copies, set in Caslon Old Face Type on hand-made paper, have been privately printed in May, for circulation by Fytton Armstrong Sixty Frith Street Soho Square London.' Inscribed ' Out of Series. For Presenttation' Harry Spurr with the gratitude of T Fytton Armstrong "John Gawsworth" The wood engraving is loosely inserted, No. 38 of 50 signed by Carrick. ODNB. John Gawsworth was the pseudonym of Terence Ian Fitton Armstrong poet and journal editor. (1912-1970), Eleusinia, a mystical poem, was Machen first published work in 1881.
