Signed by Machen on the title and in his hand he has also written 'Frederick Carter' The Chronicles of Clemendy is a collection of short stories originally published in 1888. Machen provided the Introduction to Frederick Carter's The Dragon of the Alchemists (1926). They had similar interests in the occult and mysticism.
