Wise says 'In addition to being Robert Southey's first literary venture, the volume afforded Coleridge the opportunity to make his second appearance in print. Sonnet XII, The Faded Flower ... though signed with Southey's nom-de-plume...was written by Coleridge and is to be found in his Collected Works'. Southey had contributed to to the Fall of Robespierre issued by Coleridge in 1794.
